Ahead Behind Music is privileged to present The Calder Project--a brilliant recording of highly personal and original songs that Calder Spanier was about to release before his tragic death on December 4, 1997. Although Spanier was a prolific composer in many styles of music, this collection represents the best of his jazz-tinged pop/vocal tunes. Spanier's art herein is that of fine song-crafting: lyrical melodies, sophisticated harmonies, complex yet palatable rhythms, and inspired arrangements. Spanier comments with amusement, confusion, and good-natured hopefullness on the experiences of life in the modern world. The recording features Spanier on vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, and sax with guest appearances by Charlie Hunter, Jack West, Scott Amendola, Scott Jensen, and others. It is now exclusively available from Ahead Behind Music. All proceeds go to his wife and daughter.
